Clean, peel, and slice fruit such as peaches, strawberries, or blueberries. Sprinkle with granulated sugar if needed for sweetness.
Spread in layer over bottom of 13 x 9-inch pyrex dish.
Sprinkle box of cake mix over top. Dot top with butter.
Bake at 350 degrees until bubble and brown on top.
